It was the same routine for me every week–home, school, church, and spend time with my loved ones. For him, however, things began to change.
We were friends, even classmates. He noticed me, but I never noticed him until that day when his admiration was no longer a secret.
We go through life unaware of the people whose paths we cross or the actions that have taken place around us. We’re more concerned about getting ahead or moving from point A to point B. It’s not our fault though. That is what society approves. There isn’t enough time in the day anyway. We must go about our own business. We came into this world solo and should have that same independence in all that we do. It’s worse for those of us who live in the city rather than the suburbs. It’s all about hustle and bustle. We’re constantly moving so there’s no time to pause. Well, that’s what we would like to think. Enough with the excuses already.
Has anyone ever repeated the same thing to you three or more times on different occasions for it to finally sink in? What stopped from you listening the first time? Was it fear? doubt? disbelief? lack of concern? Why did you stop to listen now?
Many of us hear what the other is saying but we rarely listen. If we did, there wouldn’t be as many problems in the world today. There are just too many to list in this post, but I will mention divorce, separation, and extramarital affairs.
He had told me how he felt over and over again, but did I take him seriously? How many others had I dismissed?
So what happens next?
